Zeta Tau Alpha nationally partners with the American Cancer Society, NFL and Bright Pink Organization to increase education and awareness and raise money to fund mammograms for local women and for breast cancer research. The Pink Recognition Gala is a unique fundraising activity held by the Springfield, Illinois Alumnae Chapter.
The event is an elegant evening of cocktails, dinner, a string quartet, raffles and a special survivor recognition ceremony. But the signature piece of the event is the art-gallery of powerful portraits of the survivors and warriors being honored that year. Each year, ZTA partners with local professional photographers, who offer a free portrait session with a warrior/survivor. The portrait sitting is unique to each person and as varied as the survivors. Once the portrait is displayed at the Gala event, survivors are able to take it home as a token of appreciation.
